Grameen Manobic Unnayan Sangstha (GRAMAUS)
The GRAMAUS is not a
large organization rather a local NGO working in the Mymensingh region
with almost sincerity and capability since its initiation in 1984. From
the beginning of its activities the organization is implementing
different national and international donor assisted projects.
Most of
its on-going projects are focusing on alleviation of poverty and hunger
of the rural people and improve their social and economic status by
enhancing their accessibility in the field of agriculture, education,
health, water and sanitation, gender equality, women empowerment etc.
through community based and participatory activities which is a local
level reflection of Millennium Development Goals (MDG) setup by United
Nations.
However within last 20
years the organization has been able to expand its activities to the
Upazilas of Phulpur, Haluaghat, Dobawra under Mymensingh district and
Purbadola and Sadar under Nethrokona District. By this time it opens
offices at different locations and enriched itself with different
sections or divisions like Rural credit , agriculture, health &
sanitation, education etc.
